Common Questions
PIDKill can't kill a specific process
Some system processes require elevated permissions. If you see "No permission" in the kill log, the process is protected by macOS System Integrity Protection (SIP). This is by design and cannot be bypassed.
A process keeps coming back after being killed
Some daemons have watchdog services that respawn them. Use PIDKill's auto-scan feature (e.g. scan every 5 seconds) to persistently kill respawning processes. PIDKill will keep killing them as fast as they restart.
How do I transfer my settings to a new Mac?
Open Settings (gear icon) → Export Targets. This saves your target list as a JSON file. On your new Mac, use Import Targets to load it.
How do I activate my license?
After purchasing, you'll receive a license key via email. Go to the app menu → Activate License, and enter your key.
How many Macs can I use with one license?
One license can be activated on up to 2 Macs simultaneously — for example, your MacBook and your desktop Mac. To move a license to a different device, deactivate it on the old device first, or email us for help.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If PIDKill doesn't work for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. No questions asked.
